THURSFORD STEAM MUSEUM TOUR & SHOWMAN’S TEA
The Thursford Steam Museum houses the world’s largest collection of steam engines and organs, welcoming millions of visitors for over 50 years! From the famous Victory engine to the clayton & shuttleworth, there’s a lot to admire and celebrate with the machines of yesteryear.
A new addition to the museum’s line-up is the introduction of a Steam Tour, which will offer an enriched, informative experience, led by a steam enthusiast, who will share their extensive knowledge of the engines of yesteryear.
The tour will offer the opportunity to see original showman engine, Victory be steamed up, with guests invited to see into the tender. Victory underwent a huge restoration project in 2023, bringing the famous engine back into steam after almost 40 years dormant.
The tour will take you around the museum where you will have the chance to learn more about the historic steam engines and ask questions along the way.
The day will finish with a trailer ride, pulled by Victory, and includes a special showman’s tea, with a savoury alternative to the much-loved afternoon tea.
Tickets also include entry to the museum. Browse at your own pace after the tour, enjoy live music from Robert Wolfe who performs on the mighty Wurlitzer organ, ride a vintage fairground galloper and gondola (additional fees apply), browse the Olde Worlde shops and watch silent movies in the auditorium.
